Pressure vessel
NCC
means a vessel subject to internal or external pressure. It includes
interconnected parts and components, valves, gauges and other fittings up to the
first point of connection to connecting piping, and—
- (a) includes fire heaters and gas cylinders; but
- (b) excludes—
- (i) any vessel that falls within the definition of a boiler ; and
- (ii) storage tanks and equipment tanks intended for storing liquids where the pressure at the top of the tank is not exceeding 1.4 kPa above or 0.06 kPa below atmospheric pressure; and
- (iii) domestic-type hot water supply heaters and tanks; and
- (iv) pressure vessels installed for the purposes of fire suppression or which serve a fire suppression system.

It includes interconnected parts and components, valves, gauges and other fittings up to the first point of connection to connecting piping. It also includes fired heaters and gas cylinders, but excludes any vessel that falls within the definition of a boiler or pressure piping in this Standard.
