plot ratio
Also called: site index
HB50
index of the intensity of use of a piece of land; ratio of the total floor area of a building over all its floors to the total area of the site
A four-storey building covering the entire site would have a plot ratio of 4, as would an eight-storey building covering half the site, or a 16-storey building covering one quarter of the site. The maximum plot ratio is usually regulated by planning requirements.
