Light alloy hollow sections are made by an extrusion process. CHSs are part of a family of rolled hollow sections produced to AS1163 for use in structures as a structural member. Although similar in shape CHSs are not pipes. Pipes are manufactured to convey or carry gas, liquids or solids from one point to another.
